Ras Mohammed
Ras Mohammed is the southernmost point of the Sinai Peninsula and divides the sea between the Straits of Tiran to the east and the Strait of Gubal to the west.
Ras Mohammed has everything the Red Sea has to offer for divers because of its current-exposed location and abysmal depths. There are over 1000 different species of fish, 25 species of sea urchins, more than 100 species of molluscs and crustaceans, 220 species of corals, 125 of which are soft corals.
The area around Ras Mohammed was declared a national park in 1989.
